Starving or injured, old and past his prime or simply neglected: Horses are like humans that way, there is always a story.
At Miller's we give children the chance to bond and share their stories with horses.  We insure that every horses story has a happy ending as a child's will too.

All horse below were rescued by Miller's.  We have placed them for Sale, Adoption or in our Riding Program, as listed below, after evaluations of each horse.  If you are interested in one of our horses call 805-235-3834 or e-mail millersorg@yahoo.com.

Horses For Sale:  Miller's has horses for all levels and ages from young prospects to trained.  They are sound and able to have a purpose.  Horses that are sold through Miller's may be re sold.  The new owners will always need to sign our agreement to insure our horses go to approved homes. School Horses and Their Stories:
These are viewed in chronological order beginning in 1995.

Fillies saved from the trip to auction.  These two fillies were headed to auction when we bought them and made them a part of our program. They were both skinny and un cared for. Juliet was found to be pregnant at only 2yrs. 4 months after their rescue she gave birth to Blossom. Soon after this we sold Tiggerett to a family in Paso. Blossom and Juliet continued in the program. Juliet has and continues to teach children how to ride. Blossom is now owned one of our students Toni.

Unborn Foal Saved from Auction.  The foal of Juliet is Blossom.  Who knows what the state of these horse would be if sent to be sold at auction.  Today Blossom is in a loving home and well taken care of.

A Tale Of Two Old Friends.  This is Chester one half of the friendship between horses.  Chester was a working ranch horse who's owner took good care of him.  He worked and did what he was told along side his best friend, another horse, named Blackie.  Together they lived and were obedient to their owners.  They got older and slower.  Chester developed arthritis and Blackie started loosing some vision.  The rancher need to find them a home and so he did under the condition that they always stay together.  They went to a wonderful pasture in SLO where they would live out there years.  Years later they found themselves needing to find and new home but no one would buy or even take them with their age and limitations.  That is when Miller's came and placed them in our school program.  These two horses are safe and perfect lesson horses.  They are loved by many! They will be placed together in the same home when they need to retire from being excellent teachers to their young riders.

A Tale Of Two Old Friends.  This is Blackie one half of the friendship between horses.  His best friend is Chester.  Their story is told above.  Blackie is used 5 days a week giving lessons to beginner riders that can walk, trot, canter and jump.  He loves his job.  He likes to canter and sometimes a bit too fast.  Which gives his riders a bit of a thrill sometimes.  He is a great lead horse and is responsive. He is a great lesson horse.  He has many riders that brush him, pick his feet out and just get him out and graze him.  He is a friend to him riders.

Let's take care of each other.  This is Jett an Arab gelding who had been a wonderful trail horse to his owner for many years.  One day Jett came up lame and was diagnosed with ringbone in his front leg.  His owner was upset and new her horse need to semi-retire.  She called Miller's and we connected Jett with his new owner Connie.  She is an elderly lady who had just lost her horse who took her on trails.  She has other horses on her property and enjoys light trail riding with friends.  She tried Jett out and they were a match.  Jett has been happy in his new home.
