dream of mine since I was a child. I had always loved horses but was unable
to experience them due to finances. By luck I w
Miller's Equestrian Center and Sanctuary was founded by Michele Miller. Michele has developed programs and taught horsemanship at MECS for more than 10 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly, a British Horse Society instructor certification completed in England and assistant instructor certification from the American Riding Instructors Association. Michele modeled her business from a mentor perspective, having “learned by doing” under the guidance of her instructor/trainer when she was a small girl. Michele Miller believes in teaching through positive reinforcement and teaching by doing in a supervised and safe environment. Teaching by example and building confidence are included in her instruction methods. Giving children challenges that they can overcome is key to her students success.

lessons. It
was the best thing that ever happened to me. From that point on I new
that everyone needed to
be able to experience this feeling. I also felt I needed to give back to the
horses that gave so much
to me and those around me, so I started planning. Through the years
the early memories of horses have stayed close to me as my dreams have.
To this day I am constantly learning from horses and I truly believe that
these kind and wonderful creatures have a tremendous amount to offer our
children. Therefore I want to treat horses with respect and offer the
same opportunity I had to others.
