Miller's Equestrian Center and Sanctuary creates many fun-filled, magical memories for a child that last a lifetime. An experience with a horse in a teaching environment lays a solid foundation for a healthy, happy and responsible child.
Miller’s Equestrian Center has several programs that teach children not only riding and horsemanship, but respect and understanding of horses and people. All activities are supervised in a safe and fun environment. Miller’s Equestrian Center’s first and foremost lesson is safety. We require mandatory safety gear - helmet, long pants and closed toe shoes - for all of our riders and show them its proper use. We teach safety techniques in situations with horses. We teach our riders to listen to their instructors, to be calm and quiet in all situations. Our students learn to catch, lead and tie horses properly and learn a horse’s body language to understand them. All lessons begin with safety in mind.
MECS programs include Miller’s Riding School, Riding Lessons, Day Camps, Horse Rescue, Horse Adoption and Horse Sponsorship. Each program lets individuals get involved and interact with each other and their horses. MECS is located at 1084 Hidden Springs Rd, San Luis Obispo, California 93401. The Center and Sanctuary sets on 10 acres of open land, surrounded by rolling hills and ranch land.
